The closest countries are Haiti, the United States, Jamaica and Mexico.
In Cuba there is always good weather, as this welcoming and multicolored land enjoys the so-called ideal, sunny tropical climate, with an average annual temperature of 25 degrees Celsius. The average in summer is 27 degrees Celsius, and in winter, 21. The coolest months are December, January and February, and the hottest are July and August.
Among the most representative, even those that have gone on to gain international fame, are Café, Champola, Guarapo, Eastern Pru, Cuba Libre, Daiquirí, Mojito and Piña Colada.
The name Cuba comes from the language of the first inhabitants of the island. Many theories appear around the origin and meaning of the name of this Caribbean island. Some maintain that it comes from the word Ciba, which among the Taíno aborigines who inhabited these lands means stone, mountain, cave.
